I'll just throw something else into the mix...

FT target kills are pivoted from the bottom and on a steeply inclined target, I'm talking 45 degrees plus, the full power of the pellet won't be transferred to the paddle.

So the higher up it is hit, the more chance of the paddle, and subsequently the target, has of falling.

So perhaps hitting the kill high won't be such a bad thing.
Less is more.
