I was referring to the base models such as standard 400's and scorpions which are capable of top scores, that are affordable to the new shooters and youngsters, and experienced shooters alike. I never said anything about expensive guns getting people into the sport.
These are what the manufacturers sell the most of, and are a base for the upper end guns you are talking about. Without which it could be argued we wouldn't have the sport we have now. Plenty of people have cut their teeth on 400's and the like (including myself), and achieved decent scores with them.
