It's really a case of making the best of what you have, if you optically centre your scope you will have the brightest picture with the least amount of flare possible from your scope.
Does this make a massive difference, probably not, could it be the difference between a 1 or 2 in HFT, probably.
Does it give you confidence mentally, definitely.
Is it a pain to do, definitely.
