I teach my recruits, especially the juniors, to place the bag on the floor at roughly 60 degrees to the line of the shot, place their back foot toe behind the bag, kneel down with the bag under the shin, place the forward foot in front of the bag, then with their back foot vertical, i.e., heel uppermost, try to place the bottom of the spine on the heel. Once done, shuffle the front foot forward so that the shin is vertical.
This is not easy to do with soft soled shoes on; they either move their weight forward or wear better boots next time they come shooting.

tooo many times ive suffered from that , mmmmmmm, mammutt mountain boots recommended even if you walk like frankenstein till they break in , probably find you wont want a bag after that
