IMO there should always be something for the new shooter to have a very good chance of hitting, I have shot a few MFTA shoots and enjoy the 40 shot format and you do get to the one lane and start looking for the standing sign as it looks a little easy, but when you have 40 targets to play with you can do this, its called a balanced course. On the matter of close targets ( 10 yard full size kills ) how many people out there have nailed it and thought that was a waste of lead, and then miss dialed the next target ( sometimes several targets) going a full turn out iv'e seen a few and will continue seeing some, there's no such thing as an easy target if you don't get things right at your end.
