I think Simon A has been using his sling for a long time. He is very practiced at using it.
In addition, he has managed to find a sling that he has been able to adapt to this bizarre rule of having it on the rifle all the time.
An important point to bear in mind is that single point slings are not made or designed to fit onto the rifle permanently. No other shooting discipline does this I believe.
They are designed to fit to the shooter permanently and quickly clip on and off the rifle, as and when needed.
If you want to get a sling that can accommodate the FT rules as they stand, you will either have to make one yourself or re engineer a shop bought one.
Why make life difficult? Why cant we just buy a single point sling and use it. Use it safely, quickly and efficiently?
