Hi Merlot,
you will see a lot of the guys using riser rails rather than mounts this is to get the scope to a height where it takes advantage of the flattest part of trajectory. This both reduces number of clicks between ranges and means that the opportunity to register a hit even if your a yard or two out on the longest targets increases.
