The only problem JSB have is making pellets fast enough to cover their orders.
I'd be very, very surprised if they are in any sort of financial difficulties.
The chances of getting a duff batch has increased in recent years, I suspect it's more to do with the amount of product going out the door rather than anything else. Victims of their own success to an extent, but certainly something that needs addressed. Another point that some are missing is the fact that what is a bad batch in your rifle could be great in someone elses - you MUST test.
Very good batches do exist though; a few of my NI customers recently got the best batch they've had in years. They bought the whole batch, it was that good.
I could go off on a rant (or write a book) about dealer/wholesaler margins, but I'd better not.
