Thank you for your email of 22 May, in which you ask for the minutes of the meeting
between the Home Office and the Gun Trade Association (GTA) between April and May
2015. Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.
I can confirm that the only meeting held between the GTA and the Home Office during
these months was on 21 April about various categories of firearms and how the law
pertains to each. There were no minutes of this meeting as this was effectively a lecture
Now the GTA claimed in their memo No 50 of 7th May 2015 in relation to the legal status of self loading and pump action rifled air weapons that "We have discussed this at length with the Home Office in order to ensure that the content of this notice reflects their responses to recent queries on this matter"
These two statements appear at odds with each other. The Home Office doesn't think that anything was discussed "at length" but there was just a lecture about the legality of firearms. Who gave the lecture is not clear.
The Home Office stance on sub 12FPE semi-auto rifled air weapons is quite clear in that they are allowed.
Who is lying.
