Do you think there's a bit of misinterpretation / word play going on here?

Just to give you an example of what I mean...

maxtich said that Mr Lassman told him in plain English that SA's are not ILLEGAL

But... that's not what he said exactly in his email, he said you didn't need a certificate to own one. Now to most people that kinda means the same thing.

The difference is.... According to the letter of the law, SA Airguns are not legal, they are prohibited.

If you stop there... that's not telling the whole story.

You can have an SA Airgun, because the HO and CPS both say that the letter of the law as it stands doesn't reflect their understanding and they are not going to prosecute (to the letter of the law).

Therefore... you don't need a certificate and you won't get into trouble for having one.
