It's possible that a die can become worn, but it won't change shape.

What's more likely is either incorrect labelling or the same number has been used for a later die (so die 22 is retired and replaced by a new die 22).

That's why it's important to find a die that works and buy as many of that die/batch number as you can.
When you run out, go through the whole process of pellet selection again.

Even if the die is exactly the same as the last batch you bought, there's every likelihood that the lead alloy mix will be different, so the pellet may not perform the same as the previous batch from the same die.
