Group first... worry about everything else only after you've got a good group.
But shoot lots into a group. There's no point in shooting 9 through the same hole if every 10th goes off into orbit... 3 or 5 shot groups may look pretty and be good for the confidence, but they are statistically as useless as 2.
The hard part of this game is testing the bits you don't want to... I've seen (and done) some stunning 5 shot groups at long range (2mm CTC at 55 off the knee indoors), but at the moment I'm happy sticking 40 shots so the holes dont touch the edge of a 1cm circle, indoors, off the bag. At 55 I'm looking for the the same, ignoring the windage.
