FedEx process every thing - they don't charge you when the parcel is delivered; the bill comes in the post afterwards.
The main think that varies the charges is the accuracy of the form filling by the person posting. Some people over value thinks to make sure the insurance pays out in case it gets lost and some don't describe items in the same terms and categories as the HMRC customs charges.
