I suppose it's whether you have someone who is willing to pay decent money for an old scope.
You can't get any back up/ repairs now for these so if it has a problem you are looking for an independant scope repairer to try and fix it ... plus costs of posting etc.
I think the 50x went for more money than the 40x.

and thanks for your info, just looking at a used one same as mine on the Bay going for £250,
I will probably put mine on there though I wont be asking that price.
