If you choose to shoot in recoiling rather than a "proper" grade then the score wouldn't go towards a BFTA grade I think.
If you choose to use your springer while shooting in a normal grade then the scores would count.

I guess most people choose to shoot in recoiling to score against other springer shooters, and also as their scores in most cases over a season will be lower than might be the case with a PCP.
