At one national I was unfortunate to call not one but two targets (and the first targets I have ever called I should say), and both of the targets were deemed faulty, so it does happen.
If im having a bad day i always pull maybe three or four targets, if you dont play the lottery youve got no chance of winning.
Even if the target isnt broken theres always the chance of being able to get a novice marshall to pull it from the comp.
Sometimes i call a target before ive shot it just so i can count how many paces it is when the marshall walks out to inspect it.
