Hi Paul, in FT you shoot mostly sitting out to 55yards. You can "range find" the targets with very high magnification scopes. With hft YOU CANNOT TOUCH/ALTER YOUR SCOPE once you've started a competition but targets generally only go out to 45 yards and no sitting is allowed (mostly shot prone). There's LOTS of other smaller difference's but would take ages to explain. If your doing nothing tomorrow morning go to Anston, there's a "joint" competition on with both disciplines taking part so you can actually see the difference.
