You're odd. We know this

Say your group is perfectly level and centered on the click and you are perfectly on range.

With a 1" (25mm) group, and 1/4 clicks, you have 11.5mm left before you split, or 5.75mm up or down. So being 2 1/4 clicks out sees your group edge outside the kill edge.

So if you can group well below 1" at 55, then the effect of 1/4 or 1/8th clicks becomes less important. There's an effect on windage, because who would elect to be possibly 3mm out when they could be 1.

So if you can rangefind and group well, it's not so much of a relevance. As ever good shooting skills overcomes kit advantage quickly. As rangefinding and grouping are core skills of FT, I'm not seeing an issue that much. But if I was to design for FT, i'd go 1/8th or 1/16th.
