It's subjective of course (see what I did there) but I've spoken to some shooters that have cleared courses and told me they haven't shot well and only just got in on a few, I never really understood this until I did a PB at Newbury and wasn't that plus'd about it because I hadn't shot that well and could have done at least 5 targets better.
I think Neil D's formula holds up with interesting placement and split across winds.
