I've also had situations where the target is placed inside a dark wood on the edge of a field, where there's bright sunshine on the field in contrast to the dark of the wood that makes rangefinding difficult and for some scopes almost impossible.
The Wales GP had a couple of targets placed like that Bri, well crafty, first time I'd seen that done so it caught me out big style. It was so dark on one target on a steep incline that I didn't notice it was actually down!
