I had a Bushnell Elite 2-6x32. Superb but pricey.
I've also owned a cheap NcStar 2-7x32, which really wasn't bad for the money but eye relief was too short.
I currently have a BSA Edge 2-7x32 which is fantastic for the money, though it's a big lump on top of a pistol. Like a pistol equivalent of a big Nikko!

However the only realistic uses of mags over 4x is for zeroing, pellet testing or long range plinking off a rest.

Parallax can be an issue, but I've reparallaxed the BSA to 15 yards from 50, which was very easy to do.

Like Chris I've been trying to decide between the two however I think I do prefer red dots.
