It happens because everyone has a bad day and 2 or 3 of those in a season will take you down a grade and as it isn't against the rules, well, it's going to happen.
Anyone can have off days but the systems there to grade everyone on their averages, if you go down then I think it's fair. Most shooters would expect a few low scores and still be in the mix, an off day for the best is only a few % which wouldn't knock them down a grade unless they are close to the cut.
A score of 1 today gives an average of about 2.8% , this won't be added to the BFTA system were by a 82 would be and that's just outside BFTA AA grade ;-)
My thoughts would be a 2 shot penalty off their next shoot.
