I've been thinking about cancellation insurance for future years. BFTA would need a robust procedure in place - by which any decision to cancel a shoot can be taken and audited by the insurers.
I mean, Jimmer did the right thing this time but I wonder if there is any written provision for what he did. Not criticising in the least, just thinking that for the sake of the sport in general and for the safety of up to 150 people in particular, Jimmer may have gone out on a limb. No club sec should be put in that position.
If I was underwriting the insurance and facing having to pay out, I know I'd be asking to see that the decision that is going to cost me money was taken properly and by the right people.
So that needs thinking about before any proposals find their way to the agenda.
