You can reduce recoil in a springer by changing your scope . Sounds a bit odd but if you opt for a heavier scope it'll dampen the recoil. On my LGU it recoiled more (or at least felt worse) when I changed from a 10x44 MTC Viper to a 3-9x40 Genesis UL. Position and weight of your butt pad can affect recoil on a springer too.
