I think the OP is quite correct in the fact that you choose your mount height to give you the biggest benefit in the area you find the hardest to range. I use mega lows (6mm between scope and rail) with a 40 yard zero, it gives me 10y on the cross hair too and shoots flat through all the 15mm kills on 1 dot hold under. I don't think there is a right or wrong height, use what works for you.
Hi mate 6mm is medium,I've got a set that's nearly touching a barrel on a pro target,with a mtc connect,but it didn't give me much on short ranges,and the 45 was over 2 milldots,so went back to my medium mounts,now I'm trying another trick by optically centring my scope,ie my connect,it's seems to reduce a already small amount ov parralax error,tho I will still prob b crap.
