We had to change one at a GP (at Redfearns) that had been sprained by the mid session painter pulling down on the paddle to get up to it. That failed on the first shot and was tested with the target tester and replaced.
Yes, I remember that one as it was me that called it! I was the only the second person to shoot it and two kills on the paddle and no marks on the plate or rim. I remember you doing all the tests on it.
Like you say, apart from that one, I cannot ever remember a target being pulled at a GP or any SWEFTA shoot. If they are well greased, and maintained they should not fail during a competition. As RobF said in an earlier post, sometimes the main bolt can self tighten, but if correctly maintained (just slacken off quarter a turn if it seem a little tight) Nockovers do not cause problems!
