I suppose if you accept that targets can be faulty (albeit a rare occurrence) and fail to fall when hit, then you must also accept that the opposite is also true. It's possible for a target to be faulty and fall on a faceplate strike.

How many times do shooters call a marshal to tell them that a target is faulty as it fell over when they missed it? I bet it's a nice round figure
