I know it is folly to ask what is the best scope for HFT but.....
I have tried bracketing and it just doesnt work for me as a method so I have practised hard and trained the Mark 1 eyeball to be pretty good at distance estimation.
I currently have MTC Viper 10x44 scopes on my two springers. Now these have a good ret for bracketing but as I said it aint for me so the lack of depth of field is now an issue. Anything below 15 and above 40 is a total blur and I am guessing on the kill zone. I am therefore looking to change to something that would be crystal clear at 15 and 40 and fuzzy but usable in the sub 15 and post 40 -45 range. Mag preferably 10.
From a scour of the online shops I have found these and I am looking for user to tell me if they think they fit my spec above.
Hawke TAC 30 10x42 10x mil dot ret @ £220
Lightstream 4.5-14x44 LR Milling Ret @ £439
Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 mil dot ret @ £580
I am not saying money is no object but I dont want to buy twice.
Your help and input is appreciated. I am also open to other suggestions as long as they are not discontinued or generally unavailable unless you have the perfect thing sitting in a drawer looking for a new pilot!
