This may help some of you find us. Recently posted elsewhere by Ian Jones. I agree with Ian this is by far the easiest, hassle free and senic( grouse moor in parts ) route
"A - 'Wallys Guide To Turton (Rivington R.)'
M6 north towards Preston.
Jnct 29 leave the M6 and join the M65 towards Blackburn (East).
Jnct 5 (Shadsworth) leave the M65 and take the B6232 towards HASLINGDEN.
After (approx.) 2 miles and opposite the GREY MARE pub turn RIGHT into JACKSON HEIGHTS ROAD.
Follow this winding road for (approx) 6 miles through EDGWORTH.
After Edgworth turn RIGHT into TURTON TOWER.
Drive past the 'Tower (on your right) and over the ornate railway bridge.
Turn LEFT at the wall and over the cattle grid.
This way may be slightly longer but there is not traffic lights etc. and only 2 turnings after the motorway. "
