The difference would be direct membership between the shooter and the governing body, much as exists with NSRA, BASC etc.

I was asked by the BFTA management at the time, about ten years ago, to have a look at streamlining the organisation and re-doing the constitution, as part of a working party one or two steps removed from the mainstream management. Roger Moy might remember. That fell over due to reasons not worth repeating here, but that could be a way forward. Put together a team of volunteers rather than pick out one individual to come up with a strategy; there will always be the personal negatives if any proposal is too closely identified as "X's" plan.
So then put a team together. As I said, the BFTA committee is pretty busy, so it needs a proposal taken to them, not taken from them.
