Itís definitely more about appearances than reality. Iíve managed to do alright with a second hand rifle and scope that cost me about £750 together. I do generally use a shooting jacket but I seem to shoot just as well with an old waxed cotton coat.
The most important thing might be for active shooters to be kind and helpful to beginners. I donít mind whatís banned, Iím happy to shoot under whatever rules that exist.
Itís worth pointing out that real shooting coats are subject to numerous rules limiting their capacity for support. No such rules govern the fit or thickness of regular clothes which might be used for shooting.
I would love to know what a 10 m shooter would chose to wear if all clothing regs were lifted Ė probably not something recognisable as a shooting coat.
