It was at our request. There is a lot of prep work to do, and although we are not flooded like the Somerset Levels we have had twice the normal rain in January and it has rained every day since December 3rd.

Couple that to an announcement out of the blue from the Devon County Council Highways department that they are closing the main road access to the village from the south for one week - that encompassed our original date - and the case for a revised date is made. The closure means a 15 + mile diversion as it's by a bridge over the River Torridge and the next nearest suitable bridge is a fair distance upstream. The next bridges downstream are in low lying ground that floods........
