Is there a consensus then, that the concept has some value? Is there further agreement or wish to see the idea expanded or developed and actually put into place? To me that is now the important issue, and how we got to this point is maybe regrettable but we have arrived and we have to deal with it.
Looking at the bigger picture for shooting in general, I think it suffers enough already because of the various interests - I almost called them factions - that retain their independence and seem to be wary of working together on the national stage. NRA, NSRA, BFTA, CPSA, UKAHFT, the practical pistol guys, to name but six off the cuff.
