I didn't really know him but such is the camaraderie in FT that I sent Paul a message some years back before I went in for surgery and will share some of what he replied to me. I think it summarises his attitude to the disease that eventually claimed him. We are all mortal and cannot overcome the end BUT there is a way to look it in the face and set an example which lends courage to many others.

"Keep setting yourself the goals to achieve, i found it gave me something to aim for, they didn't always pan out but that's not the important thing during the whole treatment and recovery period. Keeping positive is.
