I suppose what you could also do is turn your gun on it's side, aim at a mark on a target at 10yards and measure the horizontal distance between the mark and where your pellet struck..
i done that to see how much a pellet actually dropped due to gravity. pretty useless for me but was shocked at how much actual drop there was at various ranges. you could also use the drop to work out how long the pellet is in the air for at any given range i suppose.
