Was looking at the thread on the sale forum about retailers for Leup Comp series scopes and it got me thinking. My job takes me over to Canada from time to time and I have given thought to the possibility of buying a scope over there, be it a Leup or whatever and then bringing it back with me.
Does anybody know what the export/import rules are in terms of bringing scopes over? Not sure if there are duties etc. to pay.
I have also considered that since I have Canadian colleagues who also regularly travel over, I was thinking of having one of them buy a scope, open the box to make it appear 'used' and then bring the scope over, claiming it as either "I'm letting Danny have one of my old scopes for all the damned fine and hard work he does for me" or "I have sold my scope to a colleague in the UK".
Anyone able to clarify the rules on bringing a scope over?
Thanks in advance
