In your position, I would set out a number of physical knock-over targets at anything from 15 to 30 yards, with very small kill zones. I don't need to rangefind them all that accurately as they are all going to be at the top of the pellet flight path, or very nearly so. In anything short of a force 4 broadside wind I can forget that too. So, hitting these little beggars every time will come down to technique; body position, trigger control, breathing etc. Only when I knew my technique was fine, would I venture to longer ranges and the vagaries of wind doping and range finding. Then when I miss I know it's not due to bad technique.
