Do you recall a few years ago when Daystate brought out a range of pellets in various head sizes? I tried 4.50 and 4.53 against the standard diet of Mossies.
This test would have been at 42 yards in our wind-free tunnel, with pellets straight out of the tin.
Now those different pellet types would make a good candidate for a spot if downrange chrono'ing to see if we can see a velocity trend between the Mozzies and the others.
