There is actually science behind this.
Scottish pellet lube is basically haggis, dissolved in malt whisky. Because this mixture is highly flammable, the air compression makes the liquid self-ignite. Because the air is moist, thus cooler and therefore denser, the resulting combustion carries more energy.
Rumour has it that the sole purpose of the dissolved haggis is to make the pellet WANT to exit the barrel faster. This is why you should take care getting the quantities right. Add too much haggis and the pellet will attempt to pull the trigger because it cannot stand the smell.
