Holly makes an observation that I forgot... I was all about shooting on the practice range without explicitly mentioning so. During a match, you would of course range down, because otherwise you might not get clues like leaves or branches moving because they're not in your sight picture.
But during practice? Just a little more mag than you feel you can sustain.
Oh... and my 'wealth of experience' is 10 years old. I only picked up shooting again a couple months ago.
But I'm re-learning, and remembering a lot of stuff I thought I had forgotten.
