If you bought new try having it replaced under warranty.
I once had the ret break on a Simmons scope, mounted on a Theoben Taunus, took it back to the dealer who replaced it.
The new one broke, so back to Swillington Shooting Supplies who replaced it again but said don't come back if this one breaks.
Less is more.
