The current BFTA timing starts with eye to scope and therefore the shooter playing with the strings and slowing down the event is doing nothing wrong! Of course they are p**sing off their group and the following group but do you think they care?
Bum on bag, start clock, 2 minutes to shoot 2 targets then get up quickly and move on. No faffing about wondering "How did I miss with my EV2"

How many would actually admit to NOT using the clock

That's why the international timing of 3 mins per lane, when the lane is " addressed " (cue debate on what that actually means) may solve that. Read up on my reply as to what may solve post shot lane squatting.

It may lead to a belt fed feeling on lanes, perhaps taking out some of the relaxed banter that's a character of the sport though. But if we're trying to pack em in then....
