Ive been down to the range at Kibworth a couple of times with my trusty .22 Webley springers and loved it.

So....last Saturday I entered my 1st HFT competition. Greg showed me the ropes and paired me up with Wayne Marriott and off we went. Wayne was great and gave me lots of helpful hints. His main tip was to get rid of my .22 springer! Anyway after a 30 peg course I am now familiar with the term doughnut and that lots of doughnuts do not make for a good score! But I was really only competing with myself, and whilst a score of 22 will never win any prizes if I score 23 next time I've improved.

After buying Wayne a coffee I went to the range and had a good chat with Pete about the benchrest series. I was then introduced to the world of Daystate and Steyr. What a difference.

Roll on the Thursday night mini series and more Saturdays - I feel that I've got a 25 score in me soon!!!!

Almost, But I think it was more ' you're up against it with a .22 springer, duplex ret, and no real aimpoints.'

Next time, like I said, if you fancy something else, I've got a Steyr lg110/Leup mk 4,
or a Weihrauch HW100/MTC Viper you could have a go with.
