As you say, Neil, the faffing about before a shot may become significant and the length of the firing line may be a problem for some clubs. Timings would need to be looked at, quite often my first shot takes me close to or just beyond the minute but the second has usually gone well before a minute and a half!

However, the marshalling wouldn't be a problem, you would just shoot in pairs, the idea being that at any given time there should be 50 people on their bums taking a shot whereas now there is a maximum of 25. Whether or not this would be enough to absorb the extra settling down or not I don't know.

Although I would prefer two targets in a lane, my personal opinion is that this could be the best way forward, maybe we could persuade some clubs to trial it at an open/club shoot?
