Maybe I'm silly but I thought optical centre is dictated by the actual scope ie your scope should be optically centred at your zero distance, you then get shimmed mounts, adjustable mounts or rail engineered specifically with required drop to suit your setup.

Surely if your scope is optically centred and you have to dial 6MOA for your zero then a further 6MOA for 55yrds your lenses won't be in optimum territory.

My March is optically centred and zeroed at 35yrds.
I got a rail made with the required magic angle machined into it to ensure this.
