Comps are designed for full-bore long-ish range competitions (not air rifles at 50m) where there will be lots of turret winding so will be a lot less sensitive to offset. Optically boosted scopes like the Premier Reticle Leupolds (e.g. the 20-50) are a bit more sensitive since you are effectively using a narrow part of the optical path. Big Nikkos suffer at low mag when you are off-centre and you get shadowing, etc.
Just watch some F-Class shooters allowing for wind at 1000yds - not just a few clicks - they go a few turns :-)
