As Dave has said the difference in trajectory is negligible, in my eyes why shoot the lighter projectile with the same trajectory?!
I have shot the 8.1-8.7 on paper frequently and the difference in impact point is astonishing, well enough to miss a 20mm kill zone at 30yds never mind a 25mm at 40!
I agree that poi changes with weight. After a seeason sorting 7.9 JSB, I was seft with about 80 7.3-7.4gr pellets. Groups with these were about 12mm lower than 7.8-7.9gr groups at 50yd benchrested. This could loose you a 20mm tatget at 30yd or a full kil at 55yd. As about 1% of pellets fall into this weight you hav to be unlucky to get one on a dificult tatget. Dont sort them anymore as I mis more kills than the pellets do.
Make every shot count
