Just retreading this and after some living room experimentation, I would readdress your kneeling position. The reason being a high kneeler doesn't put any extra pressure on the knee, in fact the pressure in the knee is the same!

However a high kneeler does put extra pressure on the supporting ankle.

If your knees are bad don't hurt them kneeling just get permission from chief Marshall to take all your kneelers standing.
