If by "many more" you mean 5 (who did enough shoots), then I can only agree.
I am not "down" on the Piston class, shooting a springer myself, but still believe an opportunity has been lost to actively promote the SFT class to get new shooters without rangefinding kit into the sport.
It seems to have been a bit of a poor relation in recent years when HFT has been strengthening.
I still believe that the perception among non-FT shooters is that it is all about the big scopes and publicising the SFT variant could have done us nothing but good - even if people used it as a stepping stone while aspiring to/saving up for the gear for the rangefinding class.
After all, estimating the ranges and using relatively low-powered optics is where the sport started.
