Double dinked the corner lane where the wind is very hard to judge and double dinked the standers on the downhill ski slope. sorry but disaplines need a flat shooting platform so they are a test of shooting not balance.
Neil Long turned up later on tour after buying what seems like a very nice mk4 Leupold.
So we had another round as the weather was holding. Wind was up a bit more on the 2nd lap and missed another 5. However hit the 15ml and all standers
Had two bad shots, talking too much and three good ones for wind.
Top day though and great company throughout.
Yes, arrived late courtesy of a road closure through the middle of Bridgend and had to detour west and then head north again - so much for not going back to Jn 35 from Cowbridge hahaha.
I had a lovely time and it was my first visit to Oaktree - more than a touch of wind there and the ancient Oak glade holds many mysteries. Leaves drop vertically, stings slack and still out of kill on some and straight on others :-) I will hope to return again and have another go, Great fun and lots of conversation. I moved scopes between guns on Monday and clearly not quite worked out the turret settings yet.
Must be some wonderful views on a sunny day - and yes, the rain was worse on the way back to Oxford but that is not to say it didn't rain there - it is Wales.
